A Thing I Learned

Student Work

We were asked to idendtify something we had learned in our lives and visualize it in an interesting and personal way.

I learned years ago that from everything I am, my being and the life of me, I just can't and won't live for anyone else. That translated into "I can't and won't live for you". I chose to visualise it in a very literal way. I used animal intestines, harts, livers and flour, yeast and food colouring to create the typography.

I chose to use a brown paper back-drop, trying to resemble butchers paper. In hindsight I see that using a different colour backdrop would have elevated the colours and typography better.
